How We Work
STEP ONE
Initial Quotation for Weddings and Events
The best way to contact us about providing beautiful flowers for your wedding, party or other event is by phone or email. Go to our Contact page for further details. Our principal floral designer, Grace, will usually respond to your queries within one business day. An initial complimentary consultation of approximately 45 minutes can be arranged. We welcome you to bring along any images of the venue, flower ideas and fabric swatches to convey what you are hoping to achieve.
Provide as much information as you can with regard to the following so that an approximate quote can be made promptly for you:
• Date of the event, time and location
• Type of event and setting/atmosphere
• Type of flowers (consider seasonal availability)
• Colour theme
• If your event is a wedding:
o Size of the bridal party – number of boutonnières and corsages required
o Colour of bridesmaid dresses
o Number of ceremony and reception flowers required
o Style of wedding dress
Quotation for Flower Arranging Parties
Consultation regarding booking a flower arranging party is generally made over the phone. Please provide information with regard to the following:
• Date of the event, time and location
• Type of party package you would like to order
• Favourite colours
• Type of occasion if a “grown up” flower arranging party
• Age and number of children (if ordering a children’s flower arranging party) or number of adults for grown up parties
• Number of guests. Generally, a minimum number of 10 people are required for parties hosted in the local area. Enquire what the applicable minimum number is for where your party will be located.
If you decide for Graceful Blooms to provide flowers for your event, wedding or party then your order will be refined.
STEP TWO
Refining your order
Following the quotation, a phone call is made to confirm what you would like in terms of design, colour and type of flowers etc. An email will follow to confirm the order and set out the detailed terms and conditions, incorporating matters set out in this current page.
STEP THREE
Booking deposit and payments
As this is an event based floristry business, each party or event is specifically customised for you. Flowers, vases, mechanics and other materials are ordered and paid for in advance of your party/event.
Non-Wedding Events
Deposit: For non-wedding events, a deposit of $150 is required to secure the date.
Payment of balance: The full balance must be paid at least 2 weeks prior to the event.
Cancellations: Cancellation of non-wedding events must be advised in writing (email: gracefulbloomssydney@gmail.com) at least 4 weeks prior to the event. If notified during this timeframe, a full refund will be given, otherwise it will mean forfeiture of your deposit.
Changes: Any changes to the date of your event is subject to availability and must be advised at least 4 weeks prior to the event. A credit note of the deposit will be given if notified within this timeframe and must be used within 12 months. If changes to the date are outside of the minimum notice period it will mean forfeiture of your deposit.
Weddings
Deposit: For weddings, a deposit of $300 is required to secure the date.
Payment of balance: The full balance must be paid at least 2 weeks prior to the wedding.
Cancellations: Cancellations of weddings must be advised in writing (email: gracefulbloomssydney@gmail.com) at least 8 weeks prior to the event. If notified during this timeframe, a full refund will be given, otherwise it will mean forfeiture of your deposit.
Changes: Any changes to the date of your wedding is subject to availability and must be advised at least 8 weeks prior to the wedding. A credit note of the full amount will be given if notified within this timeframe and must be used within 12 months. If changes to the date are outside of the minimum notice period it will mean forfeiture of your deposit.
Flowers Arranging Parties
Deposit: For flower arranging parties, a deposit of 50% is required to book your party.
Payment of balance: The full payment of the balance must be paid at least 2 weeks prior to the date of your party.
Cancellations: Any cancellation for flower arranging parties must be advised in writing (email: gracefulbloomssydney@gmail.com) at least 4 weeks prior to the party. A full refund of the deposit is given if notified within this period. Notification of cancellation outside of this minimum notice period will mean forfeiture of your deposit.
Changes: Any changes to the date of your flower arranging party is subject to availability and must be notified at least 4 weeks prior to the booking. A credit note for the full amount will be given if notified within this timeframe and must be used within 12 months. If changes to the date are outside the minimum notice period it will mean it will mean forfeiture of your deposit.
STEP FOUR
Delivery details to be confirmed with client. A small fee is charged according to location.
